Claes Oldenburg Corridor Pin, Blue, 1999  and  Tubes and Contents, 1966

I have loved Claes Oldenburg ever since I realized the giant gleaming Safety Pin in the courtyard of the pretentious NorthPark mall  in downtown Dallas was his doing. I also recently fell in love with Tube and Contents, 1966 when I saw it last month at the Ft. Worth Modern. So naturally, I am excited to see a new public installation by the 80 year old influential artist.

Claes Oldenburg Paint Torch, installed Saturday in Lenfest Plaza at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts

The paint drip placed on the sidewalk below is definitely my favorite aspect of this.
